Happy Sunday, {{ First Name | }}!
Every property manager starts the same way.
You figure things out as they come. You say yes to most everything. You learn what a trust account is the hard way, or you learn it just in time. You set your fees based on what you think the market will accept. You take on the property with the difficult owner because you need the door.
That is not a criticism. That is just how this business starts for almost everyone.
But here is the question I want you to sit with today.
How many of those beginner habits are you still carrying?
Because in my experience, the mistakes that hurt people most are not the ones they made in month one and fixed. They are the ones they made in month one, normalized, and then built an entire operation around without ever questioning whether they still made sense.
The Mistakes That Follow You
I made most of these mistakes myself before I understood what they were actually costing me.
Some of them cost me money. Some of them cost me clients. One of them nearly cost someone their career.
Here is a handful worth looking at, honestly.
You still cannot answer the question cleanly.
